In my opinion, absolutely not. Not even close.
Your coin suffers from die deterioration and wear
This one is an easy to self attribute coin.
Thats all I am going to offer on this.
Heck, thats all I am going to offer. Period.Last edited by MintErrors; 04-05-2025, 05:41 AM.

Wow, this is a forum for opinions. Not to belittle each submission Minterrors.
It strikes me as funny, that everything is die deteriation or MD from you
Boy they must of went through thousand of Dies.
Those copper penner sure are tear up those steel Dies.
Do you have a background in metals tolerances and wear?
I do.
Sorry not die deteriation.
You have been doing this a while i presume.
Do you have a photo example of a die that that is deteriated?
Respectfully

Hello solsgt54,
The issue I have, is you seem to only want to see what you think a coin is and every variety you post is a ""Cherry Picker"" variety and some are very tough to find. Were not trying to beat you down here, Searching for varieties is like searching for gold in the 1800's. Maybe 1 or 2 in 10,000 coins or nuggets for an example. Were only trying to help you out. I can just not respond if you wish.
A double die has to be raised to the field, ""As Much As"" the normal PUP - ""Pick Up Point"" So a 1958-P DDO would have to have the original 1958 with an identicle - "Raised to the field" 1958 right next to it. An RPM has to be raised to the field in another direction from the secondary punch which is over the top. It takes a while to learn this. I agree with you that some later - 1968 and newer RPM's are very hard to determine - esp in low light. I personally use two dealer lights at my desk and a 20X Zeiss loop to look at coins. Just me but it helps to weed out the stuff that is just damage.

Here is a copy of 1972-P DDO-002. The White arrows are the primary punch, the yellow arrows "Notice they are raised" are the secondary punch. Both impressions are raised to the field: 1972-DDO-02-OBVMark.jpg
