CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Is this 1946 dime a DDR?

    I have a 1946 Roosevelt from the Philadelphia mint that appears to be a DDR (to me anyway). Can anyone confirm or deny? I'm new to trying to ID these things. Thanks!

    BTW: Very nice clear photo's, very easy to see.
    To me my oppinion this looks like MD - Machine damage doubling. Here is a photograph of one of my 1946-S's. What you want to see is a raised to the field, same size second set of Letters. Notice the flat towards the letter then the edge of the shelf from where the die stopped moving on your coin? I'm affraid it's just MD.
