Lincoln Cent 1970 S, DDR

""This coin was already published, but the photos were very poor, and I didn't have it in my possession. On the reverse, it appears that the monument is duplicated, as are the letters. Although it's very faint, it appears to be a ghost. The duplication requires the LED light to shine over each damage to be visible. I hope the photos are helpful.

I'm sorry, from what I can see this looks like a normally struck coin. Sorry I don't see a Double Die.

Morning Ariel,
The photo's are good and clear, thank you.
I just don't see any seperation on this reverse.
Tip: an arrow will help - point to the area with an arrow. Not sure if Paint.net has this option. It's a free download, I only use paint for overlays.
I have photo's of a reverse double die I can post, to me it's minor but is listed. Give you an idea what your looking for: 1959-P-DDR-005C-UNC+Spks-DDR.jpg

First. I believe this is damage from a circulated coin. I edited the best photo I could to prove the point. So a Doubled Die is when a master die strikes the rod and shifts ever so slightly on the second impression of the working hub. It the Double Die on the working hub is not noticed it goes into production . Point: all the doubling should be in the same direction. Notice shot #3 if this was a Double Die then what is located on "OF" turns clockwise. Then what is located on the top of the building should not be there. What is on the top of the building is the opposite direction CCW. 1970_S_Coneca.jpgLast edited by eaxtellcoin; 05-02-2025, 09:42 PM.
