1901-S Half Eagle: Some Kind of Hub Issue?

I recently acquired this coin and noticed some very interesting stuff going on here. What first caught my eye was the obverse die crack, then I saw the first star had some light doubling going on. "LIBERTY" is also showing some shifting, but not very drastic. Flipping it over and checking the reverse, well, that's pretty much the purpose of this post.

In the motto, the "D" shows doubling with clear separation of the serifs, the second "T" (in trust) also has a doubled top-left, along with very light doubling throughout the rest of the motto. There is also very light doubling to be seen throughout the reverse, which leads me to my questions about this coin. While looking at other graded specimens on Coinfacts, I noticed a good many (practically all of them) that have this same thing going on, so was this a master hub type of issue or something further down the line? Am I just not looking in the right places for varieties of this specific mintage, or did I happen to notice something that has been overlooked for more than a century? Or even a more likely outcome, am I just misinterpreting what I believe to be clear signs of doubling?

Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks!
