Are you 100% sure based on the photo or is this one to hard to tell without the coin to examine in hand.I've only seen one poor specimen photo of this ddr so i used the 1970 D ddr to compare doubling, looking at the O in OF on that coin the doubling is the same.Originally posted by wavysteps View PostIt appears to be machine doubling.

After a second look ( I magnified your photos), I can see notching on some of the letters. So, it is a DDR. I also compared it to the CPG pictures and it does seem to be the same. Nice find.Member of: ANA, CCC, CONECA, Fly-in-club, FUN, NLG & T.E.V.E.C.

I agree with BJ. When I first looked at your dime on another forum I thought MDD...but after I also enlarged the photos I could see the notching and thought it to be from a doubled die. The CW doubling on the M of AMERICA sure does look like MDD, but the rest seems to be from a doubled die. Like I told you on another forum, you should send it to James Wiles. He says in the listings that he is looking for a specimen to study and photograph...that is if it is a DDR-001.

Hey Larry i do plan on sending this coin to Dr.Wiles i just wanted to make double sure it's the real deal by getting more Variety experts to take a look at this dime. The doubling on the M on this dime looks similar to the M doubling on the 1970 D DDR Dime.Originally posted by atrox001 View PostI agree with BJ.
