2 overlapping extra wing feathers

I don't see feathers; could be die deterioration patches. Also, what's going on just inside the rim? It almost looks like a reverse lathed down in diameter and thickness to fit into an obverse shell also lathed for the two to fit together.Ken Potter

I will up load a side view photo . The feathers are raised and round . I am not sure on the rim I will have to look up latheing on coins to make a call on .DSC01630.jpg

The problem is if it is a doubled die where did feathers that shape come from? And what about those rims. What did you see?Ken Potter

Your coin looks like the reverse fits inside the obverse like this doubled header that I pried apart with my fingernails.

Hi Ken. Only info I could find on the rim was about Partial collar strike . The coin weighs 5.58 grams so its within tolerance there . I was hoping those were feathers it just looks odd in the shape and angle . There looks like a feather design just bellow these 2 that is inward like it had been polished out . I guess I was hoping the in-graver added the extra feathers but in that case more coins would have shown up since 1974.
