Yes, you can see the Master Die Doubling in various places on both the "reference" and the "variety" coin. It shows as doubled points on the 2nd 4, and on doubled horizontal lines. But the extra width on the 1 (with notching), the extra width on the upper loop of the 9, extra width on the tail of the 9, and extra width on the verticals of both 4's are all beyond the master die doubling effects I've seen. Is there a 2nd Master Die for 1944 that has these characteristics?

Ray, I honestly don't know I'm just throwing this out there. These could represent different stages of the doubled master hub. Here again just throwing it out there.Ken Potter
