CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

This one has a loop inside the primary, I just cannot avoid the definite look of a D/D East. Because the die state is so late i'm not sure. The die deterioration is Very Very evident. could be an OMM#1 from position, could be a new D/D? These make things tough.

I agree, with the die wear it is very difficult. Do you have an OMM 001 on hand to make a comparison to?

Comparing this to a known 1955-D/S, this a nice example of OMM-001. It definitely has all the markers. I'll need to pull all of mine to make a comparison of the various die states. I never really lined my Nickels in die stage order. At the moment I am leaning towards mid die state because it has the various die scratches and a very visible bar inside the D. Very late stages lose the bar.
