    1946D Roosevelt Dime possible DDO?

I am looking at a 1946D Roosevelt Dime. The obverse looks to me like a DDO. The more I look at the coin the more confused I get. I need some help on this one or put me out of my misery. I have gone through the myriad of DDO's and have boiled it down to DDO-014, DDO-015, DDO-020 or WDDO-003. Thoughts or comments?

I see a little bit of what appears to be MD on the date. As far as the other devices, do you see notching anywhere?

When I look at the coin with a 20X loupe, the strike is so soft (not something you normally see from the Denver mint) if there is any notching I can not see it. All of the corners seem to fade out to nothing. Looking at IGWT 'IN" and 'W' are somewhat defined and by the time you get to the 'OD' and 'UST' there is barely any definition. Designers initials 'JS' have no definition. 'LIBERTY' the upper portion of the letters seem more defined and lose definition the further you get away from the rim. The '6' in the date has some definition but the further away from the rim you go the date loses definition. Thanks for the consideration.

Thank you very much for explaining what you are seeing. Unfortunately, it makes it just about impossible to make a doubled die determination. What I would suggest on this one is that you wait until we start accepting dime attributions and include it in a package for examination.

Most of what you're describing sounds like die wear on a later die state coin. The devices will be mushy and soft.
