CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1976 cent possible ddo help

    Hi guys I have added new pics for my 1976 cent because I need to identify it
    I see it very possible to be ddo ..ccan anyone notice the doubling in pictures ?

    I do see what you are referring to but it is not hub doubling. All of this appears to be circulation damage. Notice how all of the areas you point out are cutting into the letter, not adding to it like hub doubling would. This is a sure sign of damage, whether machine made or circulation damage.

      Hi . It's not damaged sure , it's about clear and zoomed pics enough
      can you ignore this doubling in L ?
      there are notches too I just need better pics and a good angle .
      I will stop posting here until I get a microscope .

        I am sorry, but your pictures are just not clear enough and I certainly don't see anything that looks like notching. You don't have to go out and buy a microscope, but you can't blame us if the photos are not good enough to make a proper determination. I would be doing you a disservice if I said it was a doubled die when I was not certain it was. Agreed?

          There's no problem at all ..I just find it so difficult to takes micro pics and I don't blame anyone because it's my issue with pics !!! I still believe this penny has a chance with ddo under the microscope .because there is similar case in 1975 penny and 1972 as well
