CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    We need a close up of what you are looking at. These whole coin shots at a distance really do not explain what you see. Give us detail with an arrow and get the photo as close as possible so we can see what you are referring to.

      Neat find. If you are saying it looks odd compared to the other 1975 dime, you are right!! It is encrusted with something white ...maybe lime scale. Otherwise, looks like a normal 1975 dime. IMHO.

          Ahmed11 - a proof has a mirror like finish. Shines back at you. This coin is not a proof. I tried to zoom in as close as I could. Best I can tell from the coin being shot far away. Lamination. The coin could have at best - lamination BUT to me this looks more like post mint damage. Someone dropped the coin in something that has eaten away at the surface.
