1913 D Wheat with extra thickness in TY and 1 of date. What do you think?
Came across this 1913 D Lincoln and noticed that the TY and first 1 in the date are much thicker than the other letters and digits. Also looks like could possibly be doubling in the eye and ear lobe. Just wanting to see if you guys think it might be something. Thanks for looking. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

By looking at the condition of the outer portions of the coin, there is substantial die deterioration...especially on the back of the jacket and all area between the rim and the outer devices. Dies do deteriorate from the outside to the inside since there is substantially more metal at the center of the die and it starts out as conical in shape. In my opinion, everything you are seeing is the result of die deterioration.Bob Piazza
