1996P Rossevelt Dime/Double Strike/Doubled Die/RPM?
So I received this 1996p dime as change awhile back. After putting it under the microscope I could see an extra 6 in the date as well the mint mark area looking off. I'm seeing what I believe is doubling on the obverse in Liberty, date, mint mark but it's very noticable within the top of Rossevelts ear, as well as inner ear. It appears on the reverse throughout as well. My confusion on this coin is that I thought that doubling could either appear on the outer or inner part of the coin but not both unless it is a multi strike. Any feedback would be appreciated.

There are many types of 'other' doubling such as machine doubling, die deterioration, and ejection doubling. From what I can see on your coin, this is what you have on your coin. It is not a hub doubled die. It is a combination of die deterioration and maybe even a little bit of damage next to the rim at the obverse motto and date. You can not have an RPM as the mintmark was added directly to the hub at this time. It is not doubled struck as it does not show any characteristics of that error. The anomalies you mention around the ear, I can not verify as anything substantial.Bob Piazza
