It's a class 2 - and maybe a match for the Wexler listing. Maybe start by sending it to Brian? We are getting close to opening Jefferson attributions.

Hello Tanman2001, Thanks for turning the lights on! Yes, Yes, Maybe, No! Top of merge is DD pic from Brian's and the bottom pic is the subject coin. Hopefully this may help out. No die marker on the first 'S' in STATES.

You're looking in the wrong spot on Brian's website. The link you put goes to one of the coins in his shop. You have to go to the "Nickel Doubled Die Listings" section in the header at the top of the page to see the listings and die markers. Here's the link to WDDR-009 (There are two die markers): https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/listings/view/222

Hello Bob, Thanks for the effort. Not having pics from Doubleddie.com (Wexler) makes it a challenge for sure however I have been able to see how to use Brian's as a source...kind of sort of. :-)

Really difficult to pin it down without markers. It would have to be submitted so that the attributor has it in hand to scrutinize it more closely. These are the attributions that drive us crazy.

Hello Bob, The description on Brian's Variety Nickels is "1962P WDDR-009 Coin#1 A nice spread toward the center shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM. A closer spread shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS, M of MONTICELLO and the left side of the building. All spreads decrease slightly from left to right.Proof." No markers listed and no description available on doubleddie.com. Ideas?

Most definitely a hub doubled die...and a nice one at that. As far as the Wexler attribution, it looks close. Any markers?

1962 JEFFERSON NICKEL WDDR-009?
I am looking at an amazing 1962 Jefferson Proof. The color is simply awesome. Not that this coin needs any more but I see a nice spread on 'EPU'. The pictures look similar to those on Brian's Variety Coins for a WDDR-009. Thoughts or comments?Attached Files- cert_33645290_reversesingle_214053570_Max.jpg (110.4 KB, 89 views)
