I am looking at a very nicely toned 1959 Washington Quarter. The coin is a business strike coin and is a FS-25-1959-901, RDV-002 Type 'B' Reverse in a PCGS holder 36465880 (HiDef TrueView imaging available). The subject coin is similar to the pics on VV for DDO-001. The shapes of the letters are extremely similar. The subject coin also has two listed die markers: 1. Obverse Light Die Crack across the bust into the queue (which continues through the bust and into the field to the left of the '1' in the date. 2. Reverse Die Crack through 'R I B U S' of 'P L U I B U S' to the left wing. There is also a die crack on the reverse from the eagles mouth (beak) through the head and into the field. Thoughts or comments?

This does not appear to be DDO-001. The die cracks on the base of the bust and through PLURIBUS on the reverse are in different positions.Bob Piazza

Hello Bob, Thanks for the input. I believe you are right. Do you see a DDO at all? That was the only choice I could find on a business strike coin. The 'N' and the 'E' in 'I G W T' are unusual on VV and look very close to the subject coin. Cheers, Bruce.Comment
