CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1955 Lincoln

A friend had a jar of wheat pennies put aside and let me look through them. I took this one home to put under the microscope. Any chance?

Damage. Looks like strike doubling to me.

It is indeed strike (aka machine) doubling.

It was kind of fun anyways. I had a small stack of 1955's and was cycling them through the microscope and found one doubled! When I looked at the valuable "real deal" on-line the problem is visible without magnification and I knew mine was a dud.
Bob. I see there are many 1955 DDO's and DDR's listed in the master listing and want to check. While the descriptions are good I was wondering if photos exist? I don't see a way to view each listing?

Which listing are you referring to? Variety Vista, Coppercoins, or Wexler's doubleddie.com?

I'm looking at Variety Vista. Which site do you think has the best photos?

I am a little confused If you are using the VV site, there are photos on all of those listed. Just click on the blue number and it will take you to the photos we have for that variety.

Thanks Bob. This problem was on my end and I figured out how to resolve.
