Check if "TRUST" matches https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...&die_state=mds. If it does then I would contact them to add the images of the eyelid. If it doesn't match, then you have a strong candidate for a new DDO variety. IMHO.

Don't know why Chuck would ever say that. I worked with him on coppercoins for 15 years and he never made that sort of demand. I would ask Chuck for verification on that statement. It just doesn't sound like anything he would ever say.

I can't speak for him in this case, but when I was attributing for him, if someone found a bunch of the same die, we sometimes made a deal to attribute the die free of charge if they were willing to send one that we could keep for the master files. Based on that, what he is recommending is not something new. Of course...the coin(s) is yours and you are the customer. If you have to pay attribution fees and postage, would it be worth it to donate one for his master file in lieu of the fees?
I have to say that unequivocally, If you feel uneasy with his offer or demeanor, by no means should you agree to his offer.

I would have to agree, only send a coin for attribution if you feel the transaction would be to your liking. I am always uneasy about sending my coins off, even to a TPG.

You have to realize that even if the coin gets a new listing, it's not going to be worth very much, maybe $5-10. Plus, once a new variety is listed people are on the outlook for it and suddenly they come out of the woodwork driving the value down further. His offer is a good one, you don't pay the attribution fee which people charge in the $5-10 range. To cover themselves it will be mailed back, tracked and insured, another $4-6. Texting is a shortcut way of communicating, you only type the essential points to save your thumbs. It's not like you sent a formal letter and he responded in kind. I don't see where he is forcing you to give him a coin, he is saying that it could be the most economically sensible thing to do. You replied with how you wanted to do it. Did he tell you to go pound rocks if he didn't get a ransom coin? That would be rude.

Once Bob was no longer part of Coppercoins I stopped contributing to them altogether. I wont deal with Chuck for anything. I have my reasons but Ill leave it at that
