1977 Dime date error?

Being that the coin is circulated a good portion of the time it is what the call post mint damage (pmd). It happen after it left the mint. It could have been used as a tool, or was damaged by a coin counting machine or one of many different issues coins could go thru. If coins could tell us the stories of their travels it would solve a lot of head scratching questions.
A small bit of advice. Tho these photos are just clear enough to see the area, they are just a tad too blurry. There is a fine line between getting too close and too far away when photographing a coin. . If pictures are being taken by a cell phone, the camera should allow you to get a clear photo even at higher magnification. If it was taken with a hand held camera, some offer a close up macro setting, which usually looks like a flower. It can allow photos up close and personal. Kudos on the lighting!
