CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Being that the coin is circulated a good portion of the time it is what the call post mint damage (pmd). It happen after it left the mint. It could have been used as a tool, or was damaged by a coin counting machine or one of many different issues coins could go thru. If coins could tell us the stories of their travels it would solve a lot of head scratching questions.

A small bit of advice. Tho these photos are just clear enough to see the area, they are just a tad too blurry. There is a fine line between getting too close and too far away when photographing a coin. . If pictures are being taken by a cell phone, the camera should allow you to get a clear photo even at higher magnification. If it was taken with a hand held camera, some offer a close up macro setting, which usually looks like a flower. It can allow photos up close and personal. Kudos on the lighting! The lighting is just right ✅
