Did I mention I like clashed... 1972D Lincoln cent

I recently bought a roll of 1972D Lincoln cents hoping to get a RPM (no luck there). Instead I got a few nice clashed coins. The pillars from the memorial really caught my eye. The "TY" from "LIBERTY" clashed into the memorial very clearly too.

Very nice! Definitely a cool find. I have 5 unopened rolls of 1972’s right here that I can’t wait to get into! I’d be thrilled to get one of those die clash coins. We shall see. Congrats!

I tried to get them imaged when I sent them to a TPG for grading but no joy. The PDF form did not carry the extra money down to the total line and even though I overpaid in the total line to cover the imaging. They skipped checking it off on the form and reduced the cost of the submission. I guess I should be happy they didn't charge for a service they did not provide. I got them back today and confirmed the items on the PDF form did not get a check-mark from the TPG employee.

Maybe I should send them off to the clashed die site, and ask if I could get copies of their images.

On a side note, I could not decide which coin was better than the other two so I sent in all three in for encapsulation and grading. The TPG agreed that all were same grade (MS66RD).

On another forum someone said they lower portion of the 2 in 1972 appeared to be doubled.

I got better pictures of the date and of the IGWT motto. What do you guys think? Could it be a later die state of the VV DDO-006? Maybe a new variety?

This doubling is consistent with the Master Die doubling for 1972.
