CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    1964 Kennedy Proof "Little Brother"

I have located a 1964 Kennedy Proof ODV-002/RDV-001 (Straight G). The closest I can come on VV is a 1964 DDR-012, PR-12-R-II-C die stage C. All the stars are doubled some appear tripled, peripheral letters are doubled, broken rays, "U" is doubled. On mine the FG is doubled, the left dot is doubled and some tail feathers are doubled.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Again, sorry about the pictures but I am having a problem with lighting, light diffusion and angle on these "shiny" coins!

The doubling you are pointing out all seems to be Machine Doubling (MD), especially on the FG and UNUM. You need to remember that hub doubling would also affect those devices around the areas you mention. There is a slight possibility that the stars and dots might be more hub related, but I can not be sure based on the photos. I know photographing a shiny coin is a pain. You might want to consider cutting down on the glare by using white plastic, or tissues between the camera and light source.

The doubling you show on the U of UNUM is from a Master Die, the rest that you show looks like MDD has Bob just replied.
There are 5 DDRs in the CONECA listings that are 64 proofs with the ODV-002/RDV-001…DDR-007 (Obverse Die Changed), DDR-012, DDR-018, DDR-020, and DDR-024. The best PUPs to look for on them is the doubling on UNITED or the Doubling on HALF. You can see them on Variety Vista, which also shows many markers for most of them.

I can offer a bit of help on lighting. I struggle with it every day it seems. I use a lot of sheer cloth other lighting to knock down the glare. I am sure you can improvise and come up with a solution on covering up some of the light to dim down the over zealous electrons = )

The other two guys who replied above me are rock solid in knowledge and they are here to help.

If you need clarification on anything let us know. machine doubling is one of THE hardest things for people to grasp. I like to point people over to John Wexler's sight who offers a comparison between machine doubling and actual doubled dies, John lists it as "worthless doubling. It is worth a look:

          Again, Thank you Gentlemen,

I'm having fun finding die variety error coins. Finding them may not excite the "demand" side of supply but as these coins slowly disappear from their grandparents vaults, I'm sure their worth will be appreciated to future Numismatics.
As a Thermographer I should know how light makes everything look "different". Wait until you see how heat plays a roll in this "Hobby".
mustbebob is right on the hub doubling on FG but it is so slight and expert would have to pick it up!
Atrox001 probably nailed it with the DDR-18 with a stage with a DDR left dot? I have attached different pictures to help all.
Hopefully pictures are getting better. I have one shot before my shims, toilet paper, rags and lights shift!!
