1961 PR Bengy DDR-Discovery

This is the CHA-CHING example from the proof set I bought at the auction. I found zero exact matches of my example in Variety Vista. There are a couple that are close but not close enough.

I can see what looks like doubling on the EPU. I have several Franklin DDOs and when it comes to matching them up, I dont. Too many if them are so similar, too much time for me. Dont know if this is a “discovery” but it does look doubled.

I never bought from an estate sale, always wanted to though.

I can not attribute this coin without having it in hand. There are too many similar dies for the date.

Mustbebob, I agree. Where would I send it and can I send you a couple of others. I thought about sending them to John Wexler since he lives fairly close to me but, I heard he's been having health issues. The closest I've gotten in Variety Vista is perhaps DDR-006 but a new die stage, (MDS).

We need to wait for the announcement that CONECA is accepting the denomination you have for attributions. When that happens, the attributer will be named and you can make arrangements with that person to have your coin(s) attributed. I am not accepting coins for attributions because of some personal issues, but I wouldn't have done this denomination anyway. The lead attributer (J. Cuve) will make the announcements here on the forum when the attributions can commence.

Sorry Bob!! In my pursuit of the die variety, I realized how difficult your attributing job is and I apologize. I did finally find the die marker and variety through diligent research of the varieties of 1961 proof Franklin DDR's. It's a DDR-008. Photo of die marker on my example. I realize if it's really a DD, it's most likely in one of the documented registries already.
