  • 1938 Buffalo D/D RPM 007?

I'm looking at an uncirculated 1938 D buffalo nickel. There are several RPM's to choose from. Would anyone agree to RPM007? One view looks potentially like a possible D/D/D but the coin does not match the Variety Vista options. Thanks for your input.

Bob. Your thoughts on RPM 007?

I am having a hard time calling this one an RPM. It does not appear to be RPM-007 as there is nothing inside the mintmark as clearly shown on Variety Vista. I would wait and see if someone else has an opinion on this one.

Bob is right. I held off as well because something is amiss. If you take a piece of paper and place it with the edge going left to right. Tick the middle of the primary easy to see vertical bar and another tick mark on the middle of the curved part of the D. Slide the paper over to the left so the vertical tick mark is on the weaker bar. The other tick mark should be located where the curved part of the D should be.
This assumes they were using the same punch.

Thanks Gary. When I finished looking at the roll I had several similar. I will review them and experiment per your suggestion and report back

I don't see an RPM showing but I wouldn't be concerned about it. Its probably worth more for just being a beautiful MS coin than it would be with a minor RPM attached to it. Thats a really nice Buffalo. Dont see them this nice very often. One of the best looking coins ever minted IMO
