CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    I recently found this 1996 Wide AM.
    So, is this an example of of the '96 Wide AM ??

    No. This is a normal coin. I wouldnt get your hopes up. I highly doubt one exists. I wont get into details but I dont believe the story at all about the “96 Wide AM”.
    These are known:
    1992 Close AM
    1992 D Close AM
    1998 S Close AM
    1999 S Close AM
    1999 Wide AM
    1998 Wide AM
    2000 Wide AM

    Along with a Wide AM, you would also want to check the initials to help verify

      I agree with Jason. This is a normal coin. The only 1996 supposed Wide AM was debunked as a magicians coin with the reverse of another year. I did an article on it with photos, but I believe it may have been on the old coppercoins forum. Otherwise, the list Jason supplies is what has been verified.
