  • One UGLY Proof designer initials

So I looked through my collections of photos and I find a folder named "one ugly FG proof". It was transferred to a 256GB flash drive so I don't know the original date of the photo. I am going to see if I can locate the coin and see if it is a DDR, and if so, how strong it is. But for your viewing enjoyment, know that the designer initials can get quite funky:

More to follow. I am going to go to the storage unit here in a bit and look for this flip number. IF I can find it, I will add more photos

Is it 60s? Looks doubled but then some looks like MD or cleaned up some. Whats getting me is the top of F. Anyway, you have it labeled right.

Ok, I found it ! Its here with me. Its late and I need to get to bed. It's a 1959 Proof Lincoln Cent. Everything is pointing to:
      1959 DDR-002
      PR-2-R-II-C+VI (3)

I will post photos of the areas soon. This one was driving me crazy for a while, until I bumped one of my lights and instantly there after I could see at least doubling, and in more cases tripling on EPU. It's a crazy weird DDR.

even in very low lighting, you can see the tripling of the letters maining in the north-south orientation. The tripling on the "L" in EPU is just plain crazy at the base of the letter.

More photos later, if I can subdue the lighting a little better

No doubt about it being a doubled die. This makes a great case for 'lighting is everything'...especially on a proof coin. I like it!

Big difference from just being an “Ugly FG”. You must have been on a late night to miss the rest of it.

HA! No, Like I described above, I had a folder with 2 photos in it. I label each flip and folder contents a certain way so I can go back later and match them up a lot easier. I went to the storage area, found the box and the coin and brought them back here. I was then able to revisit the coin last night. It took about 3 hours to get some photographs of each letter on the reverse. The lighting was being a pain. But it got done. I got blinded by the bright lights. I need a good set of sunglasses in the photography room.

Plus, nothing takes away from that FG just being pure ugly looking. If there was a contest for such a thing, it has a good chance at winning.

My work hours are kind of crazy, but they are what I want 4am to noon. Then I come home, chat with a close friend and her and do some gaming until her bedtime. I am then free for a few hours to finish posts. There ya have it. OH, and I found another weird coin - a 1957-D that looks like a MD DDO. I think. Post coming soon.

The FG look tripled to me. But my opinion might be skewed a bit since i sttributed the coin and know its a tripled die in some areas.

For the amount of Lincoln cents I personally own I need organization. The majority of them are BU and they dont mind how they are stored.

A lot prettier than PMD at least. Nice DDR!
