  • Searching rolls and found CPG FS-50-1972-101

I was going through a box of Kennedy halves and came across this one. What I believe to be a CPG FS-50-1972-101. Can anyone verify with the pictures I took?

Thanks Jason , the lens I had on the scope at the time would not zoom out far enough. I will take another picture and get the In god we trust all together. Thanks for taking a look

Thanks and I was able to switch lenses to get a shot of IN GOD. Hope it’s not to dark. Thanks for all of the input. This one was found in my second box search. Sure got the excitement meter to a ten. Guess that’s why I search. You never know what you will find.

Thanks, Kennedy’s are a good change for now as Lincoln cents we’re not producing for me at all.

I don't think your half dollar is the 72 DDO-001, FS-50-1972-101...it looks like the 72 SDO-001 (Series Doubling Obverse). Attached are a couple of photos from my collection showing the SDO-001 and the 72D DDO-001.

Thanks atrox001, I will try and get a better photo of trust without so much glare. When I look through the scope trust looks like your second picture.

Series Doubling? The only thing I found on series doubling is where you mentioned it in other forums, saying pretty much what you have here.
I would like to know where that came from. Some type of master die doubling? I see what youre saying but I still believe this is FS-101. It doesnt look like the “SDO”

Your last photos of IN GOD WE TRUST do look like the 72 DDO-001, but your first photo of TRUST looks like 72 SDO-001.

In reference to Kloccwork419's last post, regarding SDO-001 (Series Doubling Obverse): James Wiles had mentioned it in his book The Kennedy Half Dollar Book An Attribution and Pricing Guide, on page 248, also it is in the CONECA Master Listings, 1972 SDO-001 UVC-196 DMR-001, see attachments below.

Thanks Atrox I have been trying to take photos with a light and as you could see it wasn’t working out that well. I moved outside and used natural light which depicted more of what I see when I look through my lens

Im not into much besides Lincolns, but that’s unusual.
