CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1953-D CONECA RPM-028 (FS-502)

I found this in the bottom of a box, covered with other coins stored in 2x2 mylars.

I have had my run of the 1956-D RPM-008. This one seems a weeeee bit stronger.

Uploaded to show people what this one looks like.

I see slabbed versions on Heritage Auctions about every 3rd time they hold the Tuesday & Wednesday auctions.
This happened to be a chance type thing, I was taking photographs of RPM's and this was trapped in the bottom of the box.

IF I find another, I will PM you = )

Thanks. I have purposely bought lots of 1953D rolls, both circ and uncirc looking specifically for it. It will be like most others that I 'finally' find in that it will show up when you least expect it. It wouldn't be beyond me to find it in a memorial roll some time :-)
