CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Can anyone help me out with what’s going on here on the reverse, second column from the left?

I can see what you are talking about, but can not zoom in with enough clarity to make the call of it. It appears to be either a hit that scraped and rolled some metal off the column into the memorial bay, or it is a die chip.

Look at the column right where the potential die chip is.
If the column exhibits good lines/facet design like the column should, then its proably a minor die chip.

Look closely at the column and see if there is a cracks on it, which should display as a slightly raised area,, a line with different widths and jagged in appearance.

If the area on the column looks dented, smeared or unsightly, it is probably damage.
