CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1960-D LMC. Is it me?

Is it me or are these separation lines? I honestly don’t know what I’m looking at. If they are separation lines and this is a DD I can’t find the listing anywhere. Thanks for the help!

They are not separation lines. 1960 was one of the worst for Lincoln Cents, hence the Large Date and Small dates. Your coin is a small date, and most all are just terrible. these are issues with the two different hubs being used. This link shows a lot of the issues associated with 1960 coins (especially small dates). Have a look at it:

Thank you Bob. I’ll take a look and read it. Quick question, I emailed Jason a week ago about sending home this Maya A. Quarter with the new Doubled earring and I’ve heard nothing. Crickets. What should I do? I understand he is a busy man but at least a quick acknowledgement from him would be nice. Show I send it to Dr. W. instead? He did the attribution and numerical assignment for the first one. I can’t send it to Wexler, he’s got five of mine already. Let me know what you think . Thanks.

I am at the point now where I will just have to not suggest attributers and/or examiners for any coins. I can't make them answer you, and I have been kept in the dark like everyone else here. This is going on for 2 years now. The only thing I can suggest is to be a pain in the ass until they get back to you. Sending it to Dr. Wiles is up to you, but he does NOT attribute for Variety Vista. I am sorry Don, but I am at a point now where the lack of attention by CONECA may lead me to leave the club myself. I am tired of making excuses for them , and I have better things to do with my time. Sorry.

Wow. I’m so sorry to hear about your troubles with this. I hope you don’t leave. You’re an invaluable resource to them and for sure to me. I appreciate all you have done. Take a look below. The website shows Dr. Wiles at attributor.

Talk about a bad week, besides trying to deal with the site and attribution stuff, I tested positive for Covid again yesterday. If I am not on as often as I used to, please be patient while I figure all this out.

Oh goodness. Bob I hope you get to feeling better quickly! I wouldn’t wish that mess on anyone. And this is your second time? I’m sorry to hear that. Thank you for giving me a heads up. I do prefer working with you because of your background, knowledge and reputation but get yourself better! You’ve had quite a week! Take care…Don
