  • 1957 Franklin Half Dollar - FS-402?

Here are images of what I think should be the discovery coin for a 1957 FS-402 Die Clash "Booger Nose." Looking for opinions from the Franklin Die Variety specialist.

Booger nose? Seriously? Where does FS-402 come from? This certainly would not be worthy of a Cherry Pickers number, and with the millions of coins out there with similar die damage, you can't prove this one is a clash versus die damage.

It's clearly machine damage, especially around Franklin himself. A random die chip will not gain the popularity needed to call it something other than a die chip. Being that the dies probably hammered out tens of thousands of these 50+ years ago, and there was no interest then, it will probably be the same now.... in my opinion.
