CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

The right side of the AR in DOLLAR is machine doubling.

This is a doubled die. You can see the notching on parts of the outer devices and the stars. You are correct about the couple of places where MD is, but there is no doubt this is a listable doubled die. Have you attempted to attribute it to the Variety Vista files?

I looked at Variety Vista and compared it to my collection and some of the doubling just seems to not match up. I am hoping that Larry (Atrox001) will give the pictures the once over.

          Larry,

I believe you are correct, that the coin is the 1969-D DDR-002. I took some pictures of the stage c and f or that variety that James Wiles confirmed to show the spread and they are shown to compare with this one.

Tim...I think your unknown would be either Stage A or B of the 69D DDR-002. Your ES photo matches the Stage B in my Collection, but I can't find any common markers.
