  • Poss new DDR Maya Angelou

I have this 2022 Maya Ang. Quarter and I am unsure if this may be a new variety. I believe it may be a class 9 dbled Die ( although I`ve seen none like it),, and if so than there have to be more out there. There are currently 4 Maya DDR `s and I would like to get some opinions of this coin. Thanks for any insights.

Those are great photos but I was wondering if you could explain to us what exactly you are seeing that you believe is a possible class 9 doubled die.

It looks like there is a second earring southeast of the proper one. It`s so far off the proper one I was wondering if it could be a class 9 jolted DD completely off the orig placement. The size and shape , to the eye , looks like the earring. If it`s an optical illusion , it`s a crazy one. Thank you for your attention on this coin. Doug

Thanks for the update. I definitely see what you are referring to now. I also like the thought process and the way you are approaching the anomaly. That is very smart. As far as what it is, I jus can't tell. Is the anomaly raised, or sunken into the coin? It is definitely within the area a class 9 doubled die could be hubbed, but it also looks a little too large to be another earring to me. Let's wait to see if anyone else has an opinion before we continue trying to find out what this is.

The second impression is raised. More so at the bottom of the circle but all raised areas. TY
