CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Very vague question, don't you think? What is it you are seeing that you would like our thoughts on?

It looks like a speared eagle but it's not. Just looks like a well placed hit!

Is the anomaly raised or sunken in on the coin (like a scratch)?

It doesn't matter if the anomaly is raised or recessed, it's in the wrong location to be a speared eagle. Besides, it's not a P.

If it's raised, it took a hit and raised the metal. If it's recessed, it took a hit and pushed the metal in. It's not a die gouge.

That's why I asked the question, so that we can give him a answer of what it is. Thanks for your input though.

Sure Bob. You're about the only one here trying to answer questions. Good job!
