CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

you have to be kidding me this is NO Lamination error. Did you look at all the photos. and in one of these you can see the D mint mark on the face of this. The photos show face to face. and did you not don't see that?

You need to kinda chill Daniel. Your rebuttal could have been a bit more polite. Besides, PNWMAKES is absolutely correct. This is indeed a lamination issue. Also, can you tell me how a D mintmark can get on a Philly cent? I see no such thing here. Please understand, when you ask for opinions in a forum like this, that is exactly what you get. If you do not like the responses, then please be diplomatic about it.

Daniel sorry I was giving you a honest opinion, Sometimes people see things that are not there and could no way be there. Like a D on and Philly cent. I have done it in the past you get excited and everything. There is actually a term for this it. This is no dig at you, like I said I have done it myself in the past.

Pareidolia (/ˌpærɪˈdoʊliə, ˌpɛər-/;[1] also US: /ˌpɛəraɪ-/)[2] is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one sees an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none. Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, seeing faces in inanimate objects

In my opinion, that is a stain or material spilled on the coin.
It makes NO sense to say it is a face to face, it would have to have been a double strike and backwards.
Not happening and not any off-centering. if you knew how the minting process works, it would make sense.

Before you snap at others you need to understand that those people who are willing to help are not going to do so with that attitude.
It is their opinion, and many have years of experience here...
And yes, PNWMAKES is correct, it is a lamination issue.
