CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

      This is what Rick Snow wrote about the 1908 RPD/MPD....

      S12 1908, 19/19 (s), MPD. Obv. 14: (B) Strong repunching visible at the base of the 1.
      Moderate repunching at the base of the 9.
      Two small die lines, that may be digits in the denticles visible below and to the right of the 0.

      Rev. N: Right shield point and olive leaf connected to the denticles.
      Left shield point not connected to denticles.
      Attributed to: George Peterson, Jr.

      See box for 1/1 (s) at the beginning of the chapter.
      What is classified as a misplaced digit is really just die lines. {64RD, 64RB}

      The "die lines" help solidify the attribution, good call on Snow 12.
