CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Gave me something to do for a couple hours. Indeed, there is a coin scope somewhere, which will be mine on Friday. It will save a lot of hair pulling. I swear these doubles are more rounded off. Not. Steplike. But I may have the Pariadolia again. Anyways, it is an interesting coin.

If you cant find it at either Variety Vista or on Brian's variety coins (wexler). It probally a real good chance it is not a double die. I see no doubling on your coin. I see die deterioration.

Not a RPM. The mint stopped hand punching mint marks on the working dies in 1989, so it is impossible to have a RPM on this coin.

That is correct. What you are seeing here is localized MD/Machine Damage - flat shelf like.
