I found this coin last night going thru a box of cent rolls and thought it interesting. I just finished reading Herbert’s 7th edition of OFFICIAL PRICE GUIDE TO MINT ERRORS and I believe this to have the following 3 errors:
1. Reverse struck with proof reverse die (I’m not sure which category Herbert calls this?).
2. Offset Die Misalignment K-4 (MAD?) III-N-1 (Herbert)
3. Rotated Die Strike cw-15 degree III-N-3(Herbert).
(This is my first reading of Herbert’s 7th edition so I will now try to use what I have learned from it for about a year before I read it again. I’m a slow learner at my age, so I must read some things more then once.)
Question- what makes Herbert’s book the Official Guide? (Other than it’s a very good book.)
Please look at the coin and let me know if you agree with my assessment. Anything you can add will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bill
