  • 1962 LINCOLN MEMORIAL PROOF CENT DDO?

Hello CONECA, I am looking at a very nicely toned 1962 Lincoln proof. I see some very pronounced doubling on the date. I can not find any additional die markers. Don't seem to be able to match it to an existing DDO. Thoughts or comments?

you carefully looked through all the V V listings? i agree yours looks like some of the ddos listed there but i wouldn't attempt matching it up myself w/o the coin in hand. best to do it systematically.

        Afternoon Bruce,
Yes it is a DDO. This one you may have to look around the OBV/REV for a die marker. Yes this is a Proof and there usually isn't mutch in the way of marker's so that leaves taking a photo of the coin and trying to overlay the coin in hand to the photo that was published.

If it still is not close to anything listed. You can ask Dr. Wiles for an attribution appointment. Remember he charges $10 for a VDDO # and postage.
The club is still not doing attributions from what i'm aware of.
I hope this helps. Happy Forth!

I have one very similar to this, not sure if it is an exact match. The strength and location is about the same. I think some will chuckle about what it was deemed as in reference to a DDO...This was sent in nearly 5 years ago. I don't know if the attributor or the grading service mixed up these coins, but the 20+ I sent in, some minors were listed as DDO's and some potential DDO's were declared minor. Some one may have partied too hard the night before...

eaxtellcoin Not trying to ruffle any feathers, but would Bruce's and my example now qualify as a new DDO ?

              Gary,
It's a DDO. I'm not sure when the club will take attributions again.
