CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Just pulled this out, as we were speaking in my last thread. i wanna say this is a 1957 d rpm 013, but could be rpm 012. Just want to be sure. Thanks 20231210_110445.jpg 20231210_110254.jpg 20231210_110344.jpg

    Hello again Hinkle,
    First to help you with mintmark position. When you take your photo use the straitening tool to line up the 1 and 7 of the date. Makes it alot easier to tell the position of the mintmark with relation to the date.

    Then look for where the outer curve of the mintmark placement is with relation to the tip of the 5 in the date.
    That will rule out RPM#13. RPM#13 is farther East.

    Now look at RPM#12's position: Notice your top serif is almost horizontally even with the 9 and 5 of the date. Your coins mintmark his higher, I.E. closer to the date than RPM#12 which is lower in position to the date.

    This variety is again, minor, and; not at this time, listed by Coneca.

      Okay, thank you, trying to get better with the scope. I'll give the straightened tool a try on a next find.
