1926 DDO?
Please be patient I have no idea what I’m doing. My names Rodney and I was asking for anyone opinion on if this might be DDO. Thank you to any replies it is greatly appreciated.You do not have permission to view this gallery.

The photos, are small and blurry when zoomed in. I can almost see what you ate talking about but I cannot tell if it is worthless doubling (machine doubling) or something else.
A website called varietyvista is a good place to start. The website will provide half decent photos of known varieties likedoubled dies and repunched mint marks.

It's important to know if the coin has a mintmark, so you know which year and mint to research. For the mercury dimes if it hasca mintmark, it dould be on the reverse at the bottom left side close to the torch.
The doubled dies had 2 or more impressions on a working die made of steel. These areas of doubling don't move, so what you see in reference photos should look very close or it is probably not a DDO.Last edited by MintErrors; 05-12-2024, 09:04 AM.Gary Kozera
