check the position of the mm to the date. i don't see any rpm in your image but there are a lot of minor ones. just a process of elimination (if yours is an rpm).

in my opinion, it kinda looks like a minor split lower serif. With the way it is slightly rotated, one would think it would be an easy match at https://coppercoins.com . Not so.... A few are close, but no cigar.

Thanks guys, there are a LOT of 1956 D RPM'S to check, i tell you what! between V V and coppercoins,, thats the closest i could find to what mine looked like, to me. I appreciate all your insight and knowledge, and i value your opinions greatly , andi try to use them to further my knowledge, to LEARN more about what im looking at, and how it got to be. Fascinating !
