1974 Columbia 5 Centavos RPD
I have 2 of these. Both around the same condition, this one has some scratches on the hat, but the date is nice. The other has scratches on the date and the hate is nicer. Just a cool RPD to easily find very cheap on eBay. Columbia is my first go to search when looking for some foreign varieties. Their QC is terrible...lol

Nice coin !
I have a buddy who has been collecting varieties for well over 50 years. His current passion is overdates. I have photographed about 30 of his 100 overdates he has purchased in the last year. I am going to make an effort to do some more of his overdates this weekend at the coin show we will be setting up at. He tells me Sweden, Spain and a few other countries throughout the centuries apparently just don't wish to have a strong QA QC program. I can understand the extra expenses, especially the good idea of them using older dies on following years to save revenue. Pickings are a-plenty for select countries.

I have the same 1974 RPD from Columbia, along with a few more real nice RPDs from there. I agree completely with Columbia being a great country to collect errors/varieties from. I just found a major DDO from a small group of Brazilian coins. Just about any Central and South American country can yield some really nice specimens.Bob Piazza
