1938 D Jefferson Nickel RPM?

I recently acquired this coin at a coin show. I cannot find any reference on http://www.varietyvista.com/ to a 1938 D RPM or a similar-looking error. Does this appear to be an actual error or is this wear (either to the coin or die)? If this is an error, would it be worthwhile for anyone to get it officially attributed?

Hello Croesus_amok,
The first photo is out of Focus. I downloaded your second photo but I can tell that it was shot in normal position of the camera 640. your going to have to shoot the photo in 1200 or fine to let us see what is actually happening on this circ Nickel.

The regular photo is your problem. It needs to be shot in FINE not regular or 640. The resolution is terrible on the regular pic and when it's zoomed in. This is what I get. Coneca-Nickel.jpg
