In my opinion, it's post mint damage. Probably bad handling and care. Copper coins do collect items like verdigris. And once in circulation are open to all sorts of abuse. This definitely has no added value or collectibilty.Gary Kozera

I understand PMD but what I'm confused about is how did the ink blot get onto the penny while at the mint while it should have been caught by QC correct after being struck because the ink is on the outside of the date not stamped into since it's still in the original UNC cello from the mint?
