1990 Lincoln DDR? Rim damage and die crackIMG_20240611_174907.jpeg This 1990 penny is in great shape but has some damage. It looks like rim damage due to misaligned strike which might have created. What looks like a DDR. Also see a crack. What do you think? In my opinion, the area that is showing blue in color is actually called split plating damage. This damage is caused when the strike is a bit too strong and damages/penetrates the top copper layer, exposing the zinc core.

Die cracks happen quite frequently and unless they are super-dramatic usually do not bring collector interest nor any additional value.
