CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2005 thick planchet penny

    This is 18.2mm and 1.7mm and 2.39g is it within tolerance? It feels really light almost like aluminum especially when another zinc penny is in your hand I'm probably hallucinating and it's probably PMD because only God knows what people do to these.

    In my opinion, I think its well within tolerance, its only 0.11 grams. It may have been rolled a tad thinner.
    The reverse looks pretty beat up, not sure what is going on there, but it is probably PMD.
    if I had to guess, this coin would have been under some sort of pressure.
    That mark on Lincoln's forehead and the reverse columns are suspect.
