1987S 50C designer initials
Is this acceptable for the designer's initials?

In my opinion, its an normal, expected type of documented designer initials (incomplete) for the 1987S proof.
It is probably more of a weak design from master die to working hub rather an issue with that individual working die. It probably affected a lot of proof Kennedy's for that year. They made over 4.2 million proofs. I honestly dont know how many were affected. Variety Vista doesnt have another die number for the 1987S, so one has to assume all proofs were affected from San Fran during 1985, 1986 and 1987.Last edited by MintErrors; 06-12-2025, 01:16 AM.
