CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    H.E.L.P 1946D 1c

Looks like a little abrasion on a errant image separation, at an unusual angle.

An errant portion of a die overlay, remaining in the field.

    Deep die channeling

This sideways lighting shows two raised ridges over two nostril holes.
This photo was also just sent to John Shields who does Cents on John wexler site.
The first nostril seems short, shorter than usual. The second further one looks like the normal issue.

Okay, the nostril end on the left is died across the bottom of it's hole making it's hole seem smaller than the nostril on the right.

The interesting story behind this is it was sitting in a bank box since 1979. I bought 26 vintage rolls of a seller on EBay last week. The bank box having its 1979 stamp on it. All the 79's 78's and 77's virtually came out yellow.
