Odd 2026-P Dime
I have a new uncirculated 2026-P Dime and found these heavy, parallel concentric circles around the reverse. The design seems to sit "in" the pattern rather than the pattern on the design. They go almost all the way around and I am at a total loss as to what caused it. Also the mint mark appears off. If photos aren't clear enough I can attempt again. Thanks for any input. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I my opinion, its difficult to tell whats going on. In my signature block is a helpful post on taking photos. If we could get a full, clear obverse and reverse, it would help. If it is possible to take the photos in daylight style lighting that would make is easier. Not too much light, or the glare will bite back.

In my opinion, it kind of looks like a coin counting machine damage. If the halo style ring goes all the way around the coin and it cuts into the letters, that may be what it is.

Sorry a reply took so long, had to try several ways to try for better images. I hope these help. It was mentioned to me that they could be lathe marks? I also found what could be a die crack between 2026 and her neck on obverse. Thanks again for your time and input. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

In my opinion, if those letters appear damaged, it could be a coin counting machine, coin wrapping machine, a shop lathe or some other damage that occurred after it left the mint. Its known as PMD or post mint damage. Thats my best guess from the photos provided.
