1960 cent extra mint mark inside the 9
1960 d cent i found in my 60s cents looks like an extra d inside the 9 of the date i know people are finding these with die chips but they in no way look like a mint mark they seem to just have 1 line hope this is the one...... Ok for anyone with a 1960 d mint mark cent with the "die crack" like was said mine has may want to rethink sending them off to be checked out mine is for sure being sent to be looked at this coming week after reading this check out the screen shots ive included makes you think...... Screenshot_20210218-171253.png always do lots of research and dont just take everyones opinion with no question mine may be a die chip but with odds of 200 different types i feel good enough about my own opinion to send it off and see what i really have

Ive got a closer crop of the image and ill explain how i get an extra d in the 9 every time i look at this coin if you were to rotate the d 90° counter clockwise and move it up to the 9 youd probably see what i see its not just a straight crack if you look close you can see what would be the straight of the D in the bottom if the 9 the bottom of the d isat the 3 oclock and the arch is at 12 o clock with 1960 being probably the worse year ever for the loncoln cent as far as errors go i cant just dismiss that maybe there is a small chance that there is 1 more thats gone without notice or been over looked as a die chip take for example the 1982d cent that took 30 some years to be found i may be wrong but ill spend a few bucks on the chance im rightAttached FilesYou do not have permission to view this gallery.

It's OK to play with the coins or computers, but we really need to be aware of what is, and what is not possible. I don't understand why you played with programs to show us what you think you see. We can tell from looking at the original post what you have. If you understand the minting process, then a lot of these questions can be answered easily. I have run into hundreds, if not thousands of people who think they have something special. Your coin is not a special coin.
My point is that you asked for an opinion and got one from one of the experts in the field.
If you really think this is another mintmark, I am also letting you know that you are incorrect. I have been doing this stuff for over 50 years. If you want to send it to someone and are willing to spend the bucks to do so, you will probably send it to people like me. I really do NOT want you to throw your money away, hence this reply to your post.
Your rationale is flawed. Just because there are close to 200 RPMs for the date, that does not make this one an RPM or misplaced punching.
Who do you plan on sending this to for verification? I am willing to bet they will all tell you the same thing.Bob Piazza
